A wrench has been thrown in my way!
or as one would say in Iceland,
"There is a stone in my street!"
I had everything laid out for going to an informational meeting tonight regarding the MSW (Master of Social Work) program at Rhode Island College.
I got someone at work to cover my shift.
I got up early today to print out a map of campus and directions of how to get there.
Finally,
to be extra safe,
I checked the website just to make sure the meeting was still on for tonight but then there it is in big red letters: This session is now full!
I guess there was some small print about having to send an e-mail to reserve yourself a spot in the meeting! Darn it all!
Darn it and darn it again!
But let us not despair, there will be another meeting around the middle of november, and until then, there is really nothing preventing me from doing what I need to do to make my application look better, looking for volunteer opportunities.
So it has begun,
the looking for volunteer experience.
In the meantime I need to look for new employment,
on Tuesday the manager of the restaurant called me to offer taking the night off because they had too many people scheduled on. This was at 3.30 when I was already dressed and ready to head out the door.
Yesterday (wed) I left my house at 3.10 for my 4 o'clock shift. I got to work, got 1 table and then they were making first cuts and I offered to leave (yeah I know I can blame, perhaps if I had stayed I could have made an extra 20 or 30 bucks)
Did I mention that last friday I made a whopping $27!
I'm just disclosing these details because when I leave this job for another one, it will be because of the aforementioned reasons.
That's all folks!
